Venezuelan-born Carla Gonzalez-Casanova is a celebrated vocalist and visual artist who is known for her powerful vocals and energetic performances. One of the GTA’s most active world music performers, Carla sings for thousands of people annually through her work as a front woman with Latintrain and Wharpo, two of Toronto’s popular Latin musical acts.
Her sound features a melting pot of Latin rhythms such as Bolero, Cha-Cha, Son, Salsa, Cumbia with a pinch of jazz. With a busy performance schedule with over 150 dates a year, Carla has graced major stages in Canada including Celebration Square, The Rose Theatre Brampton, and Young Dundas Square. Carla is deeply committed to her community and performs actively at festivals including Carabram, Carassauga, Coubough Latin Festival, Panamerican Jazz Festival, Inti Raimy and more.
